During the summer of 2003, the City of Atlanta retained Engineering Design Technologies Inc. (EDT) as party to a 2-firm joint venture to perform the design and construction engineering for the McDaniel Basin Combined Sewer Separation Project. The McDaniel Basin Sewer Separation Project was part of an estimated $3.5 billion program to improve Atlanta’s wastewater collection, transmission and treatment systems. This program was mandated by an EPA Consent Decree. The basin consists of approximately 60,000 linear feet of combined sewers, approximately 81,900 linear feet of separate sanitary sewers and approximately 47,500 linear feet of separate storm sewers.
